Dave Sellers is our Pastor at Cross Sound Church. His heart for people and desire to communicate the Gospel are hallmarks of his ministry among us. Dave has a longing for both those outside the church and those who have grown up in the church – that all experience the astonishing freedom of the gospel of Jesus. A graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, Dave has continued his studies through Reformed Theological Seminary. He is married to Carrie, who is an enormous support to him along with their four children: Emma, Eli, Grace and Isaac. Together, as a family, they are involved in Foster Care.
Dave O’Connell is our other “Pastor Dave” at Cross Sound Church. Dave is a Pacific Northwest transplant — an identical twin who grew up in the Washington DC area who met and married a Seattle native named Laura. Dave has been in ministry for 20 years and has a great passion for God’s grace, God’s Word, and God’s church. He and his wife love sharing their lives, and sharing in the lives of others. Together, they have been captivated by Jesus, and love to love others in Him. They are also the proud parents of three wonderful and rambunctious boys, Andrew, Caden & William.
Marit Krueger is our Church Life Director. Her focus and heart are directed toward encouraging children, supporting families, educating parents and facilitating connectedness for members of Cross Sound Church and the broader community. She comes to her ministry well prepared with 20 years of service as a public, alternative high school teacher, both in Seattle and on Bainbridge Island. A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, she and her husband, Jeff, also served overseas in Kenya, providing ministry to orphans, widows and people in difficult circumstances through Nehemiah International. Marit and Jeff have two daughters, Katarina and Alexis.
Josh Brouwer is our Interim Youth Director. Josh loves relating to kids and has volunteered at Children’s Hospital, homeless shelters, animal shelters and at church in youth ministry. He’s been a paper boy, cashier, fry cook, janitor, mechanic, and carpenter, served in the U.S. Coast Guard and trained and worked as a skilled cabinet maker. “It took me 34 years to have the courage to follow God down the path I believe he wants me to go down. It is and will no doubt continue to be a scary path at times, but the grace I have felt and the things I have seen let me know that this path is what will lead to unimaginable love and grace.” Josh is married to Jamie and enjoys life with their sons, Eli and Jonah.
Curtis and Grace Romjue are our Chief Musicians. Leading God’s people into worship is the focus of this couple’s ministry at Cross Sound Church. Sometimes thoughtful and quiet, other times energized and celebratory, our musical worship brings us before the throne of God with appropriate awe and thankfulness. Both Curtis and Grace are graduates of Seattle Pacific University, members of the band Jubilee and co-founders of Arts Aftercare, a nonprofit ministry bringing “beauty and healing through the arts” to survivors of human trafficking. Their family includes two daughters: Harper and Malia.
Penny Daniels serves as our Church Administrator. She manages the operations base for the church and our office at the Waterfront as well as serving as Sunday Morning Coordinator, overseeing set-up and take-down at the high school for all the worship and educational logistics. “I enjoy helping things run smoothly and efficiently. I also love the connection with a variety of people and the opportunity to come alongside folks who need prayer, encouragement, or just someone to talk to. Being the first contact people often have to Cross Sound Church, I have many opportunities to do just that.” Penny and her husband John have six children: Casey, Kendyl, Cory, Carter, Colby and Keagan.
Sheryl Toph is our Bookkeeper. She is an organizer who enjoys serving the church and has a passion for details. Her previous career experience has included serving with Mission to North America, the church planting arm of the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). She is a gifted home designer with lots of energy invested in creating beautiful living spaces. Sheryl and her husband, Gene, enjoy life with their daughter, Emily.
